Michael is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who provides therapy for individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, parenting challenges, religious trauma, and sexual trauma. With over eight years of experience in social work and five years in therapeutic practice, he has supported clients of all ages in diverse settings—including a trauma therapy center, rural mental health clinic, youth development agency, and refugee services agency in Central Europe.
Religious and spiritual experiences can offer deep connection—or leave lasting wounds. Michael specializes in helping people process religious trauma and adverse religious experiences, including those questioning their beliefs, grieving the loss of faith communities, or seeking ways to stay connected that honor their values. He believes healing is deeply personal and meets clients wherever they are on their path, without judgment or agenda.
Michael’s approach is rooted in trauma-informed, anti-oppressive care. He holds a Post-Graduate Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies from the Trauma Research Foundation and is a Certified EMDR Therapist. He integrates EMDR with Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients resolve anxiety, inner conflict, and trauma, particularly related to sexuality and identity.
His practice also draws from transformative justice, somatic therapy, family systems, and LGBTQ+ and immigrant-affirming frameworks. Michael understands that healing happens at the intersection of personal experience and larger systemic forces, and he works to hold both with care and nuance.
You’re not broken—and you’re not alone. Integration is possible, and you get to define what that looks like.
Michael works with individuals ages 16 and up and speaks both English and German fluently. He is currently pursuing a PhD in Social Work and sees clients virtually. When not working or studying, you’ll find him enjoying music and performing arts, exploring local coffee and chai shops, or curled up with his two cats.
Michael is available virtually on Wednesday evenings, and Thursday and Friday mornings/lunch.
